Course Introduction

Quarter 1

Managerial Economics

Managerial Economics is the application of economic theory and methodology to managerial decision-making problems.

One distinguishing feature of the course is its emphasis on the Chinese component of business applications. All lectures are supplemented with up-to-date business cases in China.

Data Analysis and Statistical Decisions

Its main objective is to introduce some most typically used statistical analysis and inference method to be used for management decisions.

The course is given in conjunction with appropriate computer software and case discussions.

Financial Accounting

Accounting is the language of business activities. This course introduces concepts and fundamental methods of corporate financial accounting and reporting, as well as practical applications.

Students perform analysis of information from the viewpoint of the users (especially senior managers) rather than the preparer (the accountant).

Business Chinese I

This course is designed for beginning learners who intend to acquire basic survival Chinese, especially in listening, speaking.

Prior knowledge of the Chinese language is not necessary.

Quarter 2

Organizational Behavior

This course targets to help students understand and manage the human side of an organization.

You will learn concepts, theories, research results, and successful management stories related to human behaviors in organizations, especially in the business context of China.

China in Global Political Economy

The global policy affects the decision of each individual. The purpose of this course is to introduce students to important concepts of macroeconomics and equip them with basic tools to analyze macroeconomic policies, especially the policies in China.

Strategy Management

This course develops concepts and analytical techniques on the drivers of successful and not-so-successful strategic positions for a business unit.

While training with fundamental frameworks and approaches, the course focus on sharpening skills at developing robust judgments under uncertainty and complexity.

Business Chinese Ⅱ

This course is designed for the beginning learners who intend to acquire basic confidence in Chinese, especially in listening, speaking and in the business context.

The goal is to improve students’ speaking and listening skills and to increase their knowledge of Chinese culture and business practices.

Quarter 3

Corporate Finance

This course aims to cover the basic corporate finance principles, apply the analytical frameworks to examine important financial decisions faced by CEOs and CFOs, and analyze how well-crafted decisions can generate lasting value impact.

Operations Management

As goods and services are produced and distributed, they move through a set of interrelated operations or processes.

The design of this course is to meet performance objectives by improving efficiency through case studies, readings and models, and a variety of industrial applications.

Marketing Management

The goal of this course is to introduce the key elements of marketing management. Students will learn the strategies and methods that marketers can use to operate successfully in today's dynamic environment.

Integrated Practicum Project

This course is an experiential learning experience that provides students with a real-life consulting project for an external client.

Students will apply to a real business problem while gaining practical insight into China’s business landscape with Chinese professionals.

Quarter 4

Cooperate Social Responsibility & Business Ethics

The course includes two modules: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Business Ethics.

CSR:

The CSR module adopts Harvard-Business-Style case teaching.

It invites students to undergo the same philosophical and practical questioning that the case protagonists themselves have undertaken to create environmental, social and economic value in both Global and Chinese contexts.

Business ethics:

In the wake of globalization, the ethical and social concerns of businesses have become more prominent.

It develops basic knowledge and confidence for students to understand and deal with complicated ethical issues in their work and life.

Venture Strategy Simulation

Students (Players) will adjust strategies to become stronger competitors by evaluating the market opportunity, tactical options, and choosing a business strategy, and making a series of decisions with profitability in mind.

The specific goal is to develop students’ management skills by giving an integrated perspective of the entire business operation.
