GK 10th Anniversary Alumni Event | Dean's Talk: Understanding China's Economy

On October 12, the highly anticipated GK 10th Anniversary Series Alumni Event reached its final stop in Beijing. The event featured an insightful sharing by Professor LIU Qiao, Dean of Guanghua School of Management on the topic How to Understand China's Economy in the Next Five Years. The event attracted GK alumni and students from the first cohort to the current cohort to gather.

The event was gracefully hosted by Professor SHEN Qiaowei, Associate Dean & Academic Director of the GK Program. She mentioned that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the program. Since the beginning of the year, a series of alumni events have been successfully held in Beijing, Shenzhen, and Shanghai, along with the “Ten Years, Ten People” alumni interviews, showcasing GKers' insights into industry foresight, future trends, and leadership. This 10th Anniversary Series not only demonstrated GK program's outstanding achievements and alumni's prowess but also injected new momentum into the future development of the GK community.

Professor MA Li, Associate Dean of Guanghua School of Management and Director of EMBA Programs, was also present at the event. He marked that the GK Program has always been committed to cultivating business leaders with a global perspective and innovative capabilities. Since its inception, the program has attracted over 300 participants from 26 countries and regions, successfully nurturing a group of business leaders with a global vision. The growth and achievements of the GK community are inseparable from the strong support of our alumni, and it is hoped that more outstanding talents will join this great community in the future. Finally, he extended warm invitations to all the alumni to join in the upcoming 10th anniversary celebration in Beijing.

Subsequently, Dean LIU Qiao reviewed the decade-long development of the GK Program and delivered a fascinating sharing session on how to understand the China's economy. During his sharing, Dean LIU delved deeply into the transformative impact of the new generation of consumers on the economy, emphasizing their pivotal role in fueling consumption growth and igniting market dynamism.

Following the dean's speech, students engaged in in-depth and detailed discussions about the core position of new quality productive forces in China's economic development and the future trends. The discussion was sharp and lively, fully demonstrating the GK alumni's keen insight and active exploration of cutting-edge economic issues.

As the 10th Anniversary series of events drew to an end, the much-anticipated grand celebration will unfold on November 9th, which promises to gather global alumni and students in an even more magnificent reunion.
