On November 25, 2022, PKU Guanghua School of Management successfully held the annual feast Guanghua Study Abroad Fair. This event revolves around the theme of “Connecting the World and Embracing Diversity”, which aims to provide Guanghua students with information about global engagement opportunities and a platform for cultural exchanges. Due to the pandemic, this year’s event was held online for the first time. More than 200 students from Guanghua’s Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and MBA Programs are attracted to this event. Nearly 80 student representatives from Guanghua’s 30 partner schools virtually set up "University Booths" toshare first-hand information about their home schools and interact with Guanghua students.
The student representatives are from Guanghua’s Exchange Program, Visiting Student Program, and “Future Leaders” Program. They elaborately decorated their virtual meeting rooms, displayed their featured PPT, and wore clothes with home university symbols. The 30 live sessions hosted by student representatives are open to all Guanghua attendees simultaneously. This interactive platform allowed Guanghua students to visit the school booths they were interested in, sit on live presentations, and chat with student representatives regarding courses, university clubs, housing, local culture, city life, etc. “I found the Guanghua Study Abroad Fair both engaging and meaningful as it gave us an opportunity to exchange personal experiences with the local students, helped us deepen our understanding of each other's cultures, and broadened our horizons of potential future pathways both academically and professionally” said by Daryl Ng from National University of Singapore, current student of Guanghua’s “Future Leaders” Program.
The info session organized by Guanghua Global Affairs Office introduced student exchange programs and short-term international opportunities available to Guanghua students, helping students explore their options by area of study, world regions, and topics of interest. Senior Guanghua students who returned from the exchange programs acted as peer advisors and shared stories and valuable intakes from their rewarding experiences abroad. "Studying abroad is a fun, exciting, and memorable experience. It allowed you to set yourself apart through cross-cultural competency, expanded resourcefulness, and experience navigating new contexts. It also has a lasting impact on my career, preparing me to communicate effectively, think critically, and translate my ideas into action", said Jack Du, Guanghua MBA Class of 2019, who studied on exchange at UPenn Wharton School.
Guanghua has partnered with 134 universities worldwide and offers programs in 36 countries from all major continents of the world. Its partnerships with distinguished host institutions have served over 10,000 students in their pursuit of academic and social success. Each year, outstanding students from undergraduate, postgraduate, and MBA programs were selected for exchange programs with partner universities.
