There are currently 12 faculty members at the Department of Management Science and Information Systems, including four full professors,six associate professors and two assistant professor. Our teaching and research focus on three major areas: management science, information systems and supply chain management.

Graduated from prestigious universities at home and abroad, our faculty members are eminent scholars. With extensive theoretical knowledge and industry experience. Notably, their studies have been published in premium journals such as Journal of Management Information Systems, Information Systems Research, Production and Operations Management Society, International Journal of Production Economics, OMEGA, Journal of Electronic Commerce Research, Management and Organization Review, and Journal of International Marketing (JIM) as well as domestic leading journals such as Economic Research Journal and Management World (MW). They have also published several textbooks and academic works, with some of them being awarded the “Excellent Textbook Award for Beijing Higher Education”. Besides, our faculties have managed to undertaken dozens of projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Fund, and other domestic and foreign organizations.

The Department collaborate closely with an extensive network of international partners and our professors are active in the international academic community. Many of them have worked as visiting professors at foreign universities or served as chairs or program committee members for international academic conferences. The Department has established strong partnerships with universities in many countries and regions, such as the U.S., Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The Department has formed strategic alliances with the College of Engineering at the University of Georgia), the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Department of Industrial Engineering and Decision Analytics at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

The Department strives for a high level of collaboration in teaching and research with partners from the government and industry, such as the Association of Public Companies in Zhongguancun, Tencent, Tianjin High-Tech Development Zone, and Zhanjiang Port Group. Through establishing few joint research centers, , such as PKU-Lian Thai Center for Supply Chain System Research and Development, PKU Research Center for Circulation Economy and Management, PKU Research Institute of Poverty, and PKU Institute of Strategic Research, the Department endeavors to promote collaborative research initiatives that could effectively address real-world issues. .

The Department aims at providing an amicable and positive environment to teaching and research through advanced teaching methods and information technologies. The goal of our Department is to combine teaching and research, to combine theories and practice, and to combine heritage and innovation.
